ELENA is one of those lucky people who found their feet in performance from an early age. Studying musical theatre from age 3, upon graduation she discovered her talent for writing. Instead of learning other people's material for recitals, ELENA is keen to add her own taste and style to the pages of culture that remain blank up until now. It's not for the faint hearted, sharing your own soul and sensibility with the world takes brilliant skill. Thankfully ELENA has bags of it, and we sit back and enjoy as she lets us in on a single from her forthcoming debut EP.


A melodious solo vocal begins as a solitary piano chord dapples like light in moving branches. The music builds, a story of lyrics journeys through a cinematic embrace of composition and sensitiveness. Subtle harmonies frolic behind certain lines as the softened piano pushes forward with harmonies that break like crashing waves. A thrust of music lifts the entire song briefly as the piano fills with reverb and continues in a throbbing melodious surge. This falls back down to reveal a pipe instrument that helps bring the song to a close.
