Today’s feature was released to coincide with the tenuous peace agreement between the ancient states of Israel and Palestine, an overlapping of cultures between Semitic people with challenges and traumas. They need all the help they can get, and where politicians and diplomats go out of their way to meet with foreign dignitaries and law makers, creative people can bring new ideas and experiences to the fold. Shaping the future is a communal effort and we’re all called to throw our ingredients into the pie. Together, we can figure out what to do next. The Slovenian multimedia musical group Laibach are on fantastic form with a continual run of thematic singles. This time, they are fortifying the peace agreement by unifying culture through uplifting art. Yom Kippur highlights the Jewish Holy Day and threads the voices of Palestinian children into the shawl in an alchemical show of self-similarity in society. While skirmishes continue and the bad apples rot on the tree, the golden thread of the future is in good hands.  
 
It begins with the voices of children, disparate across a generation of static. A bassline then hits; it romps into a rhythmic semblance of vocal. Deep and resonant words chant across the bars with a clearly gothic temperament. The voices of the children then work their magic, isolating a sense of peace and giving it to the darkness. We sit and enjoy as the dualistic composition unifies the earth with the sky through the faces of humanity, the compass of eyes facing inward and pointing north. A poem and a journey, we’re pulled into the emotion of grief and desperation, safe within the realm of song, we can explore a teaspoon of the ocean of evil that cloaks good hearts and blinds them to pain. Break free, pull the sheets, open your eyes, and say hello.
