Balancing on the tenuous fulcrum between love and loss, Belgium’s Disorientations bring us to a post-punk styled exploration of the human condition. As they prepare to embark on a handful of UK tour dates, with more in the works as we speak, the group offer us a new album, Lost Today, with the single Loner. An artistic and hedonistic arena of deep thought with a soundtrack to assemble notions to, Disorientations provide the headspace and body impulse needed to either escape or enjoy. Can we do both? You bet we can. They take an 80s post-punk attitude and add their own brand of anarchist backstep with noise-core and experimental infusions. The louder you play it, the more it makes sense, so these live shows are going to be a real hurricane.  
 
A chorus fuelled guitar brings out a spooky and elemental riff that becomes the foundation for the powerful force of the band. The music roars into life with the currents of energy surging in the same forward direction. As the vocal begins and the bass guitar holds the drumming together like thread, the voice begins to emotively portray the emotional tapestry. The punchy rhythm section keeps rising to the surface to breath for air then fight the sinking feeling left in the wake of the lyrics. Loner from Disorientations feels like an inner struggle of introverted confusion and human needs.
