A great animated video accompanies this new single from the new Nothing Is One Thing 13-track album. Left Circles and his Band o’ Bones features the unreachable talents of not only Space Cadet’s and The Explosion’s Matt Hock; we listeners will also find the magic of Failure’s drumming expert Kellii Scott in there too. What’s been described as Jangly Punk Rock, a sustainable musicianship carries through and makes the sound as interesting as it is enjoyable. The pop landscape that their music soars over is the perfect backdrop for this slightly off-centre sound, where expression and aesthetic find a balance few can define. Synched with a 1937 animation by Ub Iwerks, who also directed Steamboat Willie, the track makes use of the musically timed story-telling method pioneered nearly a century ago.
 
The original music of the film is allowed to start the song before the rest of the band take over in their modern and punchy rock n roll sound. A lead vocal takes the helm with a rush of chords and drums crashing behind the voice in a cavalry line of charge. Upbeat and dripping with energy, a symphony of major keys and heart-racing rhythms surge onward until the end. A short and sudden pop-punk anthem, the new album is a must as there seems to be a lot more Left Circles has to say.

A regular face at the local Pride festivals across England, the fast-rising pop music sensation Lloren presents her latest single. Like This is a precursor to the new album, with details to be revealed in the near future, so we can be assured of more to come. We’ve all likely heard her music before, with tracks featuring on several TV shows including Love Island USA and UK, The Company You Keep, Made In Chelsea, 1923, Wish, The L Word, and Grey’s Anatomy. A knack for writing the melodies and hooks that portray universal feeling and understanding makes her sound a go-to wishing well for like-minded stories. A novel use of the 1980s retro sound dynamic and thoughtful identifiable lyrics gives Lloren’s music a classic yet modern feel.
 
The song begins with a siren and a warning of attack, a synthesiser wanders in, bringing tones and melody for a vocal to enter. Lloren sings with her crisp and immediately identifiable voice. A drum pushes the music into a higher state of vibrancy, and the melody expands gently until the wave crashes over, washing over us with a burst of catchy chorus. A rock band with powerful rhythms catches the sails like a gale as heady keyboards move in atmospheric harmonies. The composition culminates in an anthemic jump around with a lively and one-more-time chorus.

Darkwave and post-punk goodness from the Kingdom of Sweden, Then Comes Silence are currently abroad touring the USA. At this same time, they unleash their most up-to-date creations in the form of an album and a great third single, Stay Strange. Fans of Killing Joke and Agent Side Grinder will appreciate what Then Comes Silence has to offer. The gloom and distrurbia that gothic and post-punk infused concoction manifests is cold-filtered and left to stew in a cask before being unleashed upon your ears. As always, Stay Strange.
 
Huge distortion guitar chops and surges with an evocative chord progression, loose and full of humanity. A little silence then gives in to a much more polished and tempo-driven riff. A punky gravity hits with attitude as we circle the rhythms and dream inducing melodic chord changes. A wail soars within, leaning in like a cosmic whistle in between one of the verses. The chorus, Stay Strange, its repetitive nature making sure we remember how to stay true to our own personality and not one of the sheep. Blend out, not in, and let Stay Strange be your soundtrack as you break free from judgement once in a while.
