Ernest Moon Unkind From Skipping To Maloo Liverpool About to release their sparkling new album, Liverpool indie-rock band Ernest Moon woo us all with the latest single. The two friends Seven Doran and Brian Murphy discovered a shared love of egg on toast and catchy up-beat music. Merging the elements of pop music that make it sound good and the artful lyricism that rock bands do so well, Ernest Moon fill the void many have wished for. The single and album were produced during the lockdown with recording sessions at Liverpool's Ark Recording Studio. Described as an innocent plea in a screaming narcissistic age, Unkind uses a 6/8 rhythm and reflects on some of the day's genuine and pseudo moral qualities. A chilled drum-score splashes into tranquil waters as bass greets violin to produce a waft of warming energy. Grasses sway in the wind as the smooth progression leans over. Vocals begin, guitar with warm and crisp distortion twinkles like hazy starlight through indigo horizons. Lush harmonies reach through the composition as strings and vocal buoyantly drift on choppy drums and sparkling bars. Reminiscent of The Flaming Lips, the driftwood and sunshine sensation carries us through awe-filled escapism and adventure at a beautifully relaxing pace. Brave New World is the video single that flagships his electro sound. Synthwave and electronica sound like the future and what better way to push the boat out than by singing about it, too. Imagining a day where the human genome is completely different, thanks to contaminants in the water and gene-editing technology, Brave New World studies the possible reality that waits for us. Known for his prolific arts career, Evans is a phenomenal writer and digital artist with his music fields producing harvest all the while. The Manchester based musician has achieved nine awards already from the British Arts Council and another from Creative England. How does he do it? Swishes of sound resonate with vibration and tone as the swelling begins. Keyboard layers smooch in darkly lit corridors as jostling harmonies make room for a swaggering percussion layer. Eric And The Soo have crafted this catchy and creative track that's got its own home-made video. Featuring the guitar skills of Ken Yoshioka, Tim Bradford with the bass and vocal harmonies, James McKie on Violin, Juno Award winner Julian Fauth on the keyboard, and Dino Naccarato behind the drums, the synonymous voice of Eric Brombacher has everything it needs. Penned as an introduction to this latest round of summer, for those on the north side of the world, it's bound to sound just as good down under too. A strumming mosey of guitar layers grows with melody as violin bursts through with fresh lead guitar licks. Eric begins to sing, his rough and ready rock vocal style clarifies the sense of potent positivity that launches the chords from their bars. A happiness and buoyancy brings new sections together as the musical flow consistently swings through blues and folk breaks with piano chords mirroring the guitars that fling with fiery frivolity.
