The Bellwether Syndicate Dystopian Mirror Chicago Post-punk from the shadows, The Bellwether Syndicate bring the noise and the feels from their home in sunny Chicago. Taken from the album Vestige and Vigil, this new single and video opens the floodgates and lets the music pour out. Gradually at first, we can be sure of the streams that build up into rivers. It’s taken six good years to finalise this record that’s to be released on Sett Records and Nexilis Records at the same time. The band was formed by William Faith, previously of Christian Death, Mephisto Walz, and Shadow Project, with his wife Sarah Rose Faith aka Scary Lady Sarah. Adding Philly Peroxide on keyboards, Stevyn Grey on drums, and Corey Gorey on the guitar, these hand-picked and hard-working artists complete the set. Rumbling synths build into a fire of raging guitars, thumping bass, and shuddering drums. The punk-rock sound batters through the wall of anticipation. A smash of harmonies and rhythm bears down on the vocal section, adding pressure and release to the verbs as they rhyme in rhythms and catchy hooks. Driving and punchy ferocity keeps the motion hot as the band explore aspects of the sonic universe pieced together by the intention and the flow. Guitars and drums dominate the facia as synths and bass hold the walls steady under their crumbling vibrations. A vocal line continues to throw the drama into the main arena as frantic and brilliant bars hammer down. Faith Marie NVM (Remix) Los Angeles Out now on UUin, Inc. the Los Angeles based producer presents a shattering remix of NVM. Never mind or never more, the music draws on themes of dealing with depression and holding one’s own in an unfriendly cosmology. Her last release, from 2020, was Nobody and received much critical acclaim. It’s been a good while since then with many factors in between that we have all had to cope with. It’s no wonder that artists are finding their muse in the difficulties we face. Starting out aged 13 and living in Utah, Faith Marie began her own YouTube channel that gained hundreds of thousands of subscribers over the next few years. Turning her attention to music was a natural next step for her and we are so glad she made it. Mellow piano begins with a dreamlike score that becomes voice with the flick of a switch. Blues and bass huddle together as the lyrics express the story across building beats and digital inflections in the mix. Poignant and introspective, the words Never mind reverberate over the chorus section. Rhythmic synths and bubbling beats churn and sway in the grasping pulse of the track. Emotional delivery ensures we listen attentively as Faith Marie explains what is going on in her mind. It’s a human place with relatable sections sandwiched between personally relevant symbology. Her encapsulating style of brilliant beat formations and visual effects merge together during the one-of-a-kind display of sound and light that she seems to effortlessly produce. Her roots are well established in punk fandom and musicianship and with a modern take from new technology and inventive ideas the phenomenon has evolved in her fingers to stand in line with some of the day’s most memorable soundsmiths. She takes her samples and snips as physical items so she can manually manipulate and play out the parts as they were instruments in themselves. Getting in the groove with full hands-on control helps to keep the bodily origins of punk’s sound alive in her productions. As the tour gets underway, fans can expect to be treated to fresh tracks on their streaming sites that Camilla Sparksss has made with DALEK. Otherwise known as Mike Mare, the collaboration project called Mare Sparksss will see the unveiling of “With My Heart In My Shoes I Turn To Goo” and “Drifting”. Lights Off has been produced between themselves and Ibiza mainstay and Lithuanian national Greta Levska. Trutopia bring their veteran prowess to the fold with attention already gained from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and Mixmag. They’ve released music on a plethora of labels over the past few years and in doing so have established niche fan bases in several communities of like-minded music fans. Greta Levska draws on her rich cultural heritage when composing her mixes and beats. She’s been working the ropes at the Ibiza scene for a good while and has earned the respect of her peers several times over. Bringing her talent into the studio for this record has given people exactly what they were asking for. The track begins with a scattered rhythm of electronic drums and hats. A retro-modern sound fills the groove with oscillator style melodies that froth and bounce in rubbery tones. Progressive loops and evolving waveforms bring a continual adaptive feel to the flow. New instruments begin to form atmospheric backdrops to the pulsing music. Vocals breeze in like windswept spectres as the stereo experience comes alive with neatly positioned elements within the mix. As the music progresses the repeating framework becomes a foundation for a building of introspective and rhythm complimenting formations of musical experimentation and structure. The finesse in the depth of the track shows an expert hand at the desk as well as an artistic ear for quality sounds that express real feeling. Guitars and strings begin with a minor key and a sombre mood. A feeling of close-up emotion washes across the music as the lyrics begin. We drift into the story as the song reminds us of human qualities in reverse, a plodding determination ensues and the music builds with clarity and passion with a royal trumpet solo that lifts the clouds as if they were surrounding Jericho. There’s no doubt as to why he won the FATEA Magazine’s Male Artist of The Year Award for his prominent song writing and stage presence. For the past three years, Chris Cleverley has been gathering his abilities and thoughts to create a huge basket of goodness for us to enjoy. With everyone eager to hear the new material, bringing elements of lo-fi folk, IDM, Dream pop, and Ambient to his ever-growing repertoire of expression, we take a track from his new album released earlier this month. Broadcast The Secret Verse was produced by John Patrick Elliott from Reveal Records and The Little Unsaid. Paradise fits somewhere snugly in the middle. A wholesome acoustic guitar, bass, and drum progression bounces into a verse as Chris Cleverley opens. His synonymous voice flows over the music in meandering volleys of tune. Bursts of musical pressure then rise in firework like explosions of intensity. Another verse materialises from the mists, electronic effects give Chris Cleverley’s voice a twinge of the dream before another wave of emotion rises to bring the thrust of music back to its peak. A progressive section of lyrics then begins, it climbs in melodic introspection as the inner velocity gives buoyancy and lift to the passion within.
