Taken from their upcoming Nothingside album, Finland’s Pennies By The Pound release the second single from the record. Released on the Lilith Label in 23, we can expect a back-to-back wall of sound that's as unique as it is well-made. With influences ranging from British psychedelia to 80s neon pop, the music explores several emotions and vibes through this entertaining medium. Mastered in an Oxford studio by Mark Gardner, frontman of RIDE, and produced by Rauli Eskolin of over 20 number one hits in Finland, it’s going to put Pennies By The Pound in the league of greats with their already tight and energetic musicianship.
 
The song sneaks up on us with a drifting synthesiser sound that builds in gradual increments. With a sudden burst of musical colour, rhythmic and melodious synths emerge from their boxes to fill the air. Small changes become grand as the guitars and drums enter to soften a groove in the surge. Lyrics begin, a tuneful and breezy melody spans over the energising synths and dancing guitars. The uplifting sense of expression is matched by deep and introspective words in a magnetic field of attraction to the music. Within the song we can hear clever motions from the various instruments that mirror the inventive and shifting style that builds from the song.

The fanbase for this fantastic group has been growing in bounds over the years, with an army of Razors now providing their backing for this grunge-rock outfit. Currently on tour, supporting Electric Six from the USA, London’s The Kut are doing what they do best and making music that matters. Released to celebrate the World Cup in Qatar, Fun When You’re Winning is a tribute to all the teams who made it into the last group stage and beyond. Already featured on TV and radio for the element of sporting excitement, it’s time to give it a spin.
 
A punchy and head-banging beat begins with guitar chords and bass-driven drums. The chords continue to push on as The Kut begins the song. A melodic section ensues, the chorus gives us the hook within seconds. A verse starts, the pulse doesn’t hold back and the music just keeps marching forward. Catchy lines and smashing cymbals combine to release a steady surge of rock n roll electricity. As we go back to the memorable chorus, we just hurtle onward with the persistent and poignant beats and power-chords.

Superbly talented and multi-faceted, the Mexican producer Therresia has just released Zoma, the debut album on St. Petersburg’s Cosmism Records. Entwining the pre-Hispanic soul of the Latin-American landscape with the sensual and body rippling breakbeat and big-beat styles, the new record delves deep into the spirit of these two disparate yet uniquely friendly genres. As the album explores the directions that present themselves in the reality that they in turn describe, we’re given a slow glide through the dream-inspired and otherworldly substance of musical intrigue. One of the gentler productions of the record, Forget has emerged on YouTube with a beautifully thought-through video.
 
A sleek and rounded bass melody begins with a solitary vocal. The two instruments drift together on an open transit from verse to verse. A sudden grasp of sound takes hold as guitars and drums bring out a groove we can instantly get with. Bass drops to a heavy line as the drums and guitar start to explore rhythm and key-change with strokes of thoughtful music. A gradual build-up brings layers of surging melody and low-end rhythm that demands our cooperation reveals a chapter-like forage through imaginary scenes.

It’s been a fair while since Geronimo, The Adam’s debut single that went out and did the business with full dress. Inspired by the British Invasion of pop and rock from the 1960s, The Adam brings a modern sensibility to the direct and energetic breed of guitar-based leg movers. Living near Oslo, Adam Olsson is a bit of a veteran when it comes to musical performance. He began his career as part of The Good The Bad, who went on to play alongside Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Wayne Kramer of MC5 and he also enjoyed a stint in MØ’s iconic pop group. This latest bout of lovelorn nostalgia gives The Adam a reminiscent edge and a great track in one easy to swallow sandwich. As we enjoy this latest number, we can get taste of next year’s new album that will mark a prominent milestone for this empowered and enigmatic songwriter.
 
It bursts open like a pinnata and showers us with rock n roll goodness. A blues rock rhythm progresses as the chords smash the melodic riff. Lyrics begin, a style similar to Guns n Roses and Alice in Chains crashes down with the surging drums and thuddery of the bass. A song about Cathy, we get to know the way she makes The Adam feel with serenades of feeling. Lasse Storm provides a brilliant power to the terrific composition that creaks under its own talent. Sailing guitars streak over the waves that rise and fall to the marching drumbeat.

Ashgrey Butterfly is written about social fatigue and the desire to remain part of the scene. Sometimes being alone is rejuvenating, even for the most popular among us. With a 2D animation, created by Mihajlo Dragas, a sense of nostalgia builds avenues to stretch out into our memories.
 
A string melody begins as notes playfully dance in the side-lines. Orchestrations emerge from their crevices as life begins with vocals and melody.
