Bury Me On A Back Road featuring Willie Jones
Gravel Road

Country and rap fusion with a modern style production, Indiana’s justbrandon presents Bury Me On A Back Road. Known to his friends as Brandon Gabriel Jones, he started making moves in the music zone during school. A natural, the young Brandon found himself getting past the first few hurdles with ease. He developed a story-telling style that blurred the lines between vivid descriptive poetry and rhythm-based emotional exploration. In 2015, he broke into the scene by making music for social media personality Taylor Caniff. His YouTube videos are highly popular, and the platform gave Brandon the stepping stone he needed. He went on to release a track called Busch Light Papi that went viral on a global scale. Signing to Gravel Road, justbrandon wrote Bury Me On A Back Road. It features Beyonce collaborator Willie Jones, lending that little bit of star power to the fast-forming luminary in the Indiana skies. About lightening the load when feeling the grief of personal loss, a pivot of feeling is something we can all make work for us. Something a bit unusual for Sound Read Six yet no less valuable and creatively formidable. Let’s hear it.

A fluid acoustic plucks the melody through a structure of chord and key and the vocals hit as the drumming digs the groove. RnB style vocals begin the piece, a graceful and heartfelt section that lifts the spirits carries us into the music. A break then strikes us, the music swerves like a jet plane and the thrust drops a flow of verbs and adjectives in a fast rap that accelerates the whole piece. It lifts and throws us forward, with g-force and glory, before new melody finds its way and the song continues. The acoustic merges with electronic hip-hop beats and slide guitar that adds extra vibrancy and subtle feeling. It’s so well produced and put together, it’s hard to believe this guy has only just got started. All those hidden years of effort really do make the difference.

Duet Between Peter Murphy Of Bauhaus And 80s Legend Boy George Let The Flowers Grow Gets New Tricks By Brighton’s Juno Reactor

Let The Flowers Grow (Juno Reactor Remix)
Metropolis Records

A vibrant and fresh remix version of the 2024 collaboration between Peter Murphy and Boy George, this Juno Reactor Remix of Let The Flowers Grow produces a new self-seeding bloom. Produced by Youth, from credits with Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, The Orb, and Killing Joke, the pairing of legendary vocalists show their classical side. Orchestral and adventurous, the song began life as a social narrative about George’s own gay realisation journey. It quickly evolved into much more than about being gay, as it became clear that all kinds of personal and social differences create tensions in our community and the relationships we have with ourselves. Creed, race, moral compass, colour, music taste, and more, they all create variations in the way we see the world and our place within it. Remixed by Brighton’s Juno Reactor, a fusion of electronic and global styles brings inventiveness to the front. Like the flowers in a lovely meadow, aromatic and lush wildlife, our society is a mix of hardy and annual specimens of persona. Rather than digging it all up and putting uniform crops in the ground, let’s just Let The Flowers Grow.

It begins with a delicate tone; a distant power forms gracefully in the space between the music. Lyrics enter; a sudden and emotional tenor paints the drama and sensation across the bars in poetic verses. Percussion and synthesiser work together to unleash sensual drives of passionate harmony, finding nooks in the soul where the warmth can begin. With a twist of a dial and a push of the mixer, bass and tone then collide with the flow. Dancing rhythms and grabby techno bass beats form a heavy and energetic backbone. The words re-enter, like a rocket ship bringing back secrets from the stars, the duet of vocals aligns with the fiery pulse of the rhythm section. The flower meadow is in full colour, and the aroma is guiding our imaginations towards the microcosmos of felt reality.

International Vocal Star Zarema Wows Us With Her David Alexander Remix Of Closure

16/12/2025

Zarema Closure
Zarema
Closure (David Alexander Remix)
Los Angeles

She lives in the USA but was born in exile. The Crimean Tatar national had to grow up in Soviet Uzbekistan and only later regained her rightful home when the USSR collapsed. Zarema began music early by learning piano, and from there she went on to form her own career. She began composing as a child, so by adulthood her material had become highly popular. After getting a big name for herself in Crimea, she went international and found fame as far afield as Eastern Europe and Türkiye. Signing to Sony, she found herself performing in front of tens-of-thousand strong crowds as a regular occurrence. Now based in LA, she’s in full flight across the landscape with her reach and ability. Having recently published her beautifully sentimental I Hold You Child earlier in the year, a remix of her pandemic era Closure now makes the front. David Alexander has given the ode to grief a new sense of belonging and rekindled the emotions that we mustn't let fade away. With all of us somehow changed by the situation, some of us lost a lot more than others. This is for them.

Oscillators ripple with harmonious melody, the synthesiser presents in vibrancy and melancholy key. Zarema leans in, her voice at first offers an operatic folk charm that allows us to explore the music. Then, her words begin to dictate the journey. A strong imagery forms within her strong and well-practiced voice. The notes are perfect, and as the techno-house style rhythms ramp up the emotional pressure, Zarema stays on point and continues her exploratory sensations. Saying goodbye to someone special is difficult and making space for grief is an important part of the process, and her lyrics allow us to examine the feelings for ourselves. A euphoria in the music blends seamlessly with Zarema’s heart-felt wishes for life to be more like the dream we were told it is.

London Indie Party Pop Zkeletonz Release New Album Out! With A Dose Of Juicy Marmalade

Zkeletonz
Marmalade
London

They began by putting on shows at warehouse parties, filling slots and maintaining the night’s energy. Since then, their home-grown London sound has garnered attention from Channel 4 TV and BBC Radio, both 2 and 6. Should we get them on Radio 1? We can try. They belong there; a fantastic fanbase following began joining the group as they built their synonymous sound through performance, writing, and style. It’s still growing; their recent album launch party at Camden raised the roof and put it back again, all in time for breakfast. Their album has been made to highlight all their classic numbers plus a bit extra. It’s got efforts from Daft Punk, Phoenix, Ed Banger credited Alex Gopher, plus work from Sam Wheat, who’s worked with Public Enemy and Nile Rogers. With two new singles out to get the festive season cracking, and now their album Out! for the serious listeners, Shut Up (Don’t talk about it) and Marmalade offer a sweet and sour spread we can sit around and share. Seeing as not talking about it is the thing to do, we’re going straight over to the orange jam. It’s got to be white bread and real butter; this is Zkeletonz with Marmalade.

A funky disco themed bassline brings out the bounce as juicy grapevine rhythms lead us onward and up. The lyrics hit; falsetto style vocals drive home the fun and upbeat energy. It’s a 2000s themed retro-glycerin dive into great sensations and easy-going dancing. The keyboards offer bass and funk with a choppy motion through melodies and section, buoyant and fantastic; the breaks keep coming. Layers of synth ripple and skank to the line dance of hypnotic rabbeting that lifts us up and down in well-measured components. The energy is pure, and the writing is top-drawer. There is some genuine flesh on these bones; it must be a fashion statement.

The Show Never Stops With KMFDM As They Prepare Next Year’s Enemy With The Ominous Oubliette

KMFDM Enemy
KMFDM
Oubliette
Germany

As a conductive element in the dark wave and electronic goth scene for the past 20 years and more, Germany’s KMFDM present brand-new facets with each spectral rotation. Their new album is on its way, with bat wings and trenchcoated egg timers, we only have to wait until the 6th of Feb for the new and long-awaited album Enemy. A true mirror image of society, the shambolic clash of illusions that meet in some passive aggressive handbag comparison one-sided interview, the needs of the few and the wants of the many are fighting in the street. In a world where one autonomy is worth one hundred and another is worth zero, the result is fashionable fascism and manufactured half-blind anger. That’s right, everyone, KMFDM have been on the right side of history for their entire career, even when their stories talk of nemesis. Their single came out just a few days ago, and I’ve been itching to write about it. Oubliette is a French word meaning forget. It’s also a noun that means a dungeon whose only entrance is a trapdoor in the floor of the room above. Let’s open it.

Twisting thumps and rotating guitar riffs begin the piece with a catchy, upbeat attention-grabbing riff. A new family of layers then flow through, complementing and raising the motion to a dancing level of awesomeness. Guitars and bass swerve like motoring rally cars over twisting roads and decorative scenes. Digital drumming merges with a genuine kit while synthesiser folds the whole into a dynamic and harmonious music number. The vocals explore; female attitude and gothic sentiments join forces as the industrial darkwave style adventurously demonstrates the depths of the genre’s groove. A blurring of lines between rock n roll, hardcore electronic, and sinisterism, it’s KMFDM at their pinnacle. Do they have a valley side? Maybe that’s their secret writing space.

Spiritual Oppression And Liberating Tunes Beauty In Chaos Reinvent Get Down Moses

Beauty In Chaos
Beauty In Chaos
Get Down Moses
Los Angeles

Formed in 2018 by Michael Ciravolo, the post-punk and avant-garde guitar player and music composer from Gene Loves Jezebel and Human Drama, Beauty In Chaos always seem to have something new just around the corner. This time it’s a cover song; the Joe Strummer original gets a new dress sense and an expertly novel reinterpretation. The band have found themselves working alongside serious culture with members of groups such as The Offspring, The Cure, Ministry, Van Halen, Ice T, and so many more. This time, their music has been recorded with the help of Michael Rozon, of Ministry, Jarboe, and Wayne Hussey credit. He not only plays on the record, but he also produced it. The B-side of the single is another cover, one that was popularised by Johnny Cash. His cousin Tish Ciravolo, and Whitney Tye feature on vocals for Get down Moses and God’s Gonna Cut You Down, a traditional gospel number. Mixing religion with gothic aesthetic is always an interesting experiment, and in the Chaos we can always decipher Beauty. That’s my God in a nutshell.

Static and sound blur reality before a choppy blues lick begins the piece. Blasts of band and bass lift the muse from the melody and then a progressive surge begins. Reggae style off-beat chord strikes mingle with horns and a pump of bass that marches us into Jericho. A shimmering effervescence decorates the sleek musicianship; a dramatic soup of harmony and pulse pours with warmth and good taste. The catchy and uplifting song delivers a laid-back and adventurous drive through emotional clarity with a biblical theme. They’ve paid the ultimate respect to Joe Strummer, a soulful and fully felt performance with very little in the way of chaos, perhaps it’s an invitation to check out the rest of his work.
