It’s shock-rock time and who better to roll out the fireworks than Chicago’s Sinister Fate. From the city where the colour of your socks actually matters, something far reaching and universally curious is hitting our ears. A new EP is out, called Profit of Doom. It’s got lots of originals, a cover of Filter, and a run of remixes to complete the set. It’s a banquet of sound that has courses and variations for the whole scene. They’ve toured all over the country and brought their creepy cacophony to crowds who all go home feeling a little weirder than they did before. As well as their Profit Of Doom EP, a video single has been put out there for the track BeLIEve. It features an American flag with some nefarious eyes among lots of other interesting visual bombardments. Let’s go.

It certainly is not a test, the guitars home in and hit the target. Baskets of sound tip over as drums hit bass with gruff palm-muted sections. The voice sample legalises murder among the non-government worker population. Can you imagine this scenario? These guys can. The lyric punch in with a thrash metal Slayer swagger as the heavy-duty riffs chunk down with machinery level weight. A searing burst of energy keeps sprouting from the mass of frantic and aggression tempered bandwork. A section for the guitar then opens out, an opportunity not to be wasted. A throbbing guitar solo leaps forward as the rhythm section provides a ruckus of bounce and sludge. Another chorus ensues, carrying on the theme as the visual fruit salad continues to capture our nightmares.
