Vote For Us Newcastle Synth and darkwave firebrands 404 Error bring the theme of elections to the front just as the UK welcomes in a new government and as the USA prepares for their vote in just a few months. It was written before they even knew about the UK election, so synchronicity was on their side as the release date coincided with the handing over of keys. Taken from the album Scene Killers and following their debut single ETHAL from the beginning of June, Vote For Us continues the minimalism and artistic electronica through the musicianship of 36663, the brains behind the URL to nowhere. Vote For Us is a playful dig at the notion of free democracy, when so much of what we get is decided by someone else. A fast pace and an abstract backdrop paint the scene with an immediacy we can feel. A gothic style vocal begins the chanting and rhythmic dance. Blips and beats swirl in a kinetic transcendence of loop as the voice offers rhythmic spoken word lines that keep us hooked with exploratory lines.
