The strong arm of Ransom Note has levered the quality into new fields of harvest thanks to the inventiveness of their roster. A clear voice is cast over reverb and resonance and synthesiser drops like rain through open skylights at dawn. Effervescent sounds emerge from the sparse framework as piano and key assemble and seduce among the drifting tone of vocal. Pooling reservoirs of feeling radiate with ripples and cymbaline drift from glitched rhythms that break over rocks of soft and lush voice. A dreaming edge cuts through reality to reveal shining landscapes of internal motivation and peace. The heady synths rise and build in intensity as the vocals explore in looping laps of relay and progression. Midori Hirano’s version of Too Close draws us in and lets us feel the beating heart of the song.
