The European goth and electronica veteran powerhouse KMFDM return to Sound Read Six with not only YOÜ but a new album, too. Released last Friday, ENEMY LP combats boredom and inertia with deeply hitting synth, bass, guitar, and vocal dance music. Like a cross between the punch of industrial and the gritty realism of  hardcore, KMFDM continue to dominate the gloomy side of the weekend revel. As the music is sent out into the world, the message is clear. Fashionable fascism and redundant empathy are making things worse. Like two crossed wires, society seems to have got the message back to front. Was it too loud or have we just forgotten what it looks like when people stop supporting each other? Here to support YOÜ with mind-grabbing brand-new sounds, and a fresh tour to follow, it’s KMFDM.  
 
It begins, sliding and greasy synths move against one another in shifting tone. The light touch meets hard hitting as the various parts coalesce. Then, the drums, guitar, and bass join and a vocal throws the direction. Covetous people, envious and spiteful, they love to make a scene and put you in the worst light.  The song takes the anger, the shame, the disappointment, and turns it into a vibrant anthem to self-empowerment and acceptance of humanity. Perfection is a weapon of mass destruction that can be turned on any one of us, so when something is good, better, or amazing, those little gremlins will look for a problem. The music does what it always does with this band, highlights great sounding vocal lines with moving and darkly interesting riffs.
