The alternative-rock duo from Joshua Tree CA are back with extra luminosity for their latest video single. Jules Shapiro and Juliette Tworsey bring the sounds of the deep, dark, desert with an atmospheric electronic rock style. Firebug have been enjoying the festival circuit in recent years, having done their thing at Knebworth, Dublin Castle, NXNE, CMJ, SXSW, and lots of others. Finding a modern sounding niche for the genre blends of the 60s and 70s, Firebug have identified a much-needed recipe for their no-nonsense and infectious attitude. From working with Grammy-Award producers and sharing stages with people like Iron Maiden to a music deal with Apple TV, their new video continues the adventure. Time Marches On was produced by Jordan Lawlor, who’s also worked with people like Deftones, Beck, plus M83, and has a brilliantly made video you really need to watch.  
 
A pulsing bass evolves into a groovy keyboard rhythm that’s like a time machine. Juliette begins the song, her intimate and heart-felt delivery pours over the melodic frame with notes all of her own, resonant and harmonising. The drums add new dimensions to the tune as the keyboard continues with its looping and progressive selection of notes. The song grows and expands, like the universe and like the trunk of a tree, until it bursts free from its seed and launches into freedom. The music takes the lead with a dramatic break before lead key and guitar leap into action. The vocal rejoins the flow as the punch of rock n roll makes us step back and watch what’s going on.
