It’s difficult to spell yet easy to get into, the industrial sludge artistry of Schkeuditzer Kreuz bubbles up one more visceral dome of manufactured and organically crafted shockwaves. The latest album, Swan Grinder, is rumbling into town and is promising to be a synth crust landscape devout in the ethics of tune and boom. Sirens Of Death comes alongside a video made in Sydney by David Xuereb at Grim Reflections. Since the success of their previous collaboration, Ratchet, Xuereb was the natural choice for another swing. With infectious synths that get under your skin and roil within the follicles, beats that do the work for you, and an emotional backdrop fitting for Stanley Kubrick, here is Sirens Of Death from Schkeuditzer Kreuz.

The amplitude builds as quick step beats surge within the intro. Layers of rhythm crash in with gradual bursts of heavy synths that sound like guitars. The music continues to build with bass and synth that shudder through our inner world like a semi-articulated truck. A fast break gives way to vocal, heavy, distorted and with barbed wire tension, the lyrics stream their consciousness forward. The rhythms go insane, huge rolls of crashing snare and melodic fills from the side lines compete for the frantic award. It settles down to cymbal taps and interesting soundscapes before the vocal kicks back in and raises the temperature beyond the dial. Progressive and multidimensional, Sirens Of Death is a brutal death metal style synth-fest.
