The glamourous ladies from Norway’s premium music scene Cocktail Slippers are back with another party anthem, and a continuation of their hedonistic and extravagant display of musical performance. They’re a live band, with the fantastic looking women wearing all kinds of leotard and showgirl style rock n roll outfit. A feast for the eyes and the ears, and for the ladies, a lesson in owning yourself, being cool as a hot potato with butter on, and remaining expertly vibed to your own sense of expertise. Back Where You Belong is about being on the road, living the life of your dreams, and meeting all the fantastic faces new and old that line the streets of every venue town. With a US Tour on the books and their cases already packed, let’s have a party.

A rock guitar brings home to riff as the girls begin to decide what’s about to happen. The music revs, as if a natural phenomenon and the first verse kicks into action. Harmonising voices and blues rock motions take us by the hand and reveal a sudden burst of classic rock goodness we can’t remember where it’s been. What happened to this sound? It’s like Cocktail Slippers found it in the back of a cupboard and we’re all relieved. They’ve brought it back home, and the song just keeps going with its fun and uplifting vibe. There’s a Judas Priest feel to it, that draws on classics like Deep Purple and Wishbone Ash, then it’s got that stadium Kiss element that makes it stick around in the mind. Give me more of this.
