Six guys representing folk punk and beautiful California that go by the name of Hoist The Colors are here, and they’ve got a new single to kickstart the day. Documentation is from the soon-to-be released new album. October’s Dear Wanderlust and its first single explore the human condition in minute musical detail, perceptions and progressions are set down in score for the masses to absorb and hopefully adore. Buzzbomb Studios’ Paul Miner has brought the single to life, which gets underway as of now. They’ve shared the stage with legends galore and they’ve been involved with the world-famous Flogging Molly Salty Dog Cruise. Traditional Americana folk, bluegrass, and an exquisite variety of punk. Enjoy.

It begins like Welcome To The Jungle and then evolves into God Speed! You Black Emperor before the first introductory bars. Then, a banjo breaks out from the wailing guitar and warm distortion. The drums and melody work together in a quick-step march through ample feelings and pictures. Vocals akin to The Levellers opens like roses and the lyrics depict all the images we can manage. A frantic and energy rich band thrust the powerful tunes through rock n roll and foot-tapping fiddle to stand and deliver some seriously fun and classic sounding music. Love it or not, you can’t ignore it. It’s too good.
