With a new EP out on the 13th, Brooklyn’s Cash Bribe present Bay Of Pigs from the record. Released on Futureless, where punk legends go to thrive, Bay Of Pigs is a definitive message for its listeners. Written about the mass media gaslighting that goes on, the everything is fine narrative is a facade to cover up the massive problems at the door. Who chooses the narrative, who defines the word, who distracts us with a free spectacle? Why are we asked to stop trusting our own eyes and ears, our own guts, for the sake of being socially appropriate? A brutal punk energy collapses around the subject with the follow-up Demonomics EP, taking on the billionaire class one track at a time. Named after a military operation in which hubris and underestimation resulted in humiliation, this is Bay Of Pigs.  

 

The song begins with a distortion that sounds like it’s run through a Harley Davidson. The huge fizz that accompanies the soaring chord-based riff carries us into beastly vocal sounds and drum breaks. The rhythm begins with a huge quick step snare and cymbal led smash as the oily high of the guitars continue to surge with grunts and grump. A fast and shouted vocal laps the band in circuits of sprinting projection as the spiralling energy smashes up the studio with ever-present antagonism.
