It’s amazing to think this confident and head-strong talent of a young woman is only 17. She’s been recording and producing music since 2020 so already has a lot of time on the books. Working with the sought-after music producer Paul Thompson, Chayne has been able to create her own diverse sound design while staying fresh and modern with regular output. It’s Gone, He’s Gone is the latest single taken from her forthcoming debut album. The two-chord-based anti-ballad about breakup and freedom puts a classic edge into a myriad of influences that spans from stadium rock to French Cinema. It’s incredible that despite being at school and having all the issues that brings, Chayne has found the space and drive to make herself a member of the music scene with confidence and style. It begins with a plucked melody that playfully mesmerises along a rhythmic pulse. Chayne begins to sing, her carefree vocal begins to rationalise the feelings of loss. Transmuting emotion into happy feelings, the music builds with a vibrancy and clever pop infectiousness that we can’t ignore. A cute whistling tune adds a new layer of sensation to the bounce, as its rhythms add a significant groove we can disappear into. A continual progression of instrumentation keeps the lean moving as the centre of gravity shifts left to right with vocal and music taking turns.
