If you’re ever in Swindon, then keep your eyes open for I See Orange. They’ve got international potential so get there quick, before they’re somewhere like L.A. Led by a Mexican British female singer and with two decent-looking blokes to add the foundation, no-one is going to mess with these guys unless they’re a music producer with express permission. They’ve got that grunge sensibility, like Nirvana in the modern day, which they achieve by feeding in elements of that Joan Jett style with something up to date such as The Warning. With a Record label that usually specialises in Japanese artists and a band that’s British with a Mexican flavour, and both parties needing to expand their reach, this combination seems like the perfect opportunity to cross-pollenate two distinctive ideals.

It begins with a musical box. A drum then reveals a kick, and hat theme that’s joined by a thumping bass guitar. The vocal enters, the song leans in with so much classic feel it could almost be a cover, but it’s not. This fresh original reels in the atmosphere of No Doubt and Daisy Chainsaw while staying focused and catchy, and a pouring of concentrated talent. It’s a lot of noise for a three-piece, and this finds its way into a raw punk direction that’s steered into other formulae through the sheer force of will. Is this the 1990s or are we still here, living in the world of 2025? Let’s hope it’s many years later and you are reading history.
