A free-spirited firebrand who has been seeking his own tribe through aggressive gothic electronica and noir aesthetics, Berlin’s William Bleak takes a break from his overseas touring to release Ghost Waltz. The track is described as an electronic assault on the senses, so we’re due to be bombarded with intensity and imagery through the medium of rampant beats and synth. Recently signed to Breathing Records, an underground renegade impress; Bleak gears up for his debut LP for the label. His epoch is only just beginning, and his tribe is forming around their new king. As the ghosts dance to the archaic meter, the flesh is invited to follow suit into Spades and Clubs, as for today, the blacks are high and the reds are low.

A compressed and tubular sounding bass-led rhythm begins the piece; it inspires visions of corridors and red lights at the smoky end. A flashing pulse emerges and whispering vocals begin to create the journey. We walk, high energy pacing and struts take us forward as the atmosphere conditions and builds to the abstract and twisted rhythms and synth tones. A vocal penetrates the surge, it hangs in the distance somehow and coalesces with cymbals and synth strangeness as feedback and intensity boil over. Grimy and dirty, the beats sink in like muddy footprints as the coven meets for the final time until the sacrifice. Who plays the godhead?
