Raising money to support those directly affected by the Earthquake in Türkiye and Syria, Müstesna Records have produced a massive compilation album. A run of rampant rhythmic and atmospheric mixes from over 20 class artists have been dutifully placed on one release. This is only the beginning, at least 48 musicians have provided the team with material for use. So, expect a lot more from this side of the equation. The record has been complied by Müstesna Records & Dance Music From Planet Earth, part of Ransom Note. Bringing the sounds of humanity to the stage in the name of doing what we can to support those who need it is clearly a noble avenue to tread. This is, so far, a Bandcamp only release. A smooth an easy listening groove merges with a one-two drum pattern. Chords and brass flower in the verses as the voice of Ahu enters. Sultry and emotional, lush lyrics sprawl over the sun-baked surfaces in cabaret style. The music pulses along at a steady pace, motoring rhythms chug like an engine as horn sounds call out in melodious companionship. A delicious swagger of cool mixes with a jazz and diva sentimentality that brings us down to earth while keeping us moving.
