The electronic music wizard Charles Rehill AKA Lost Signal from beautiful New York State opens up another door on his calendar of sound. The natural tendency of things to fall away from complexity requires effort and work to maintain order. Entropy is the universal constant that means things often fall apart. If not now, in a hundred years, a million, or more. If we look around us, we see that there is order everywhere. Natural order, manufactured order, and something that sits between the two. It’s not all hard work, sometimes it just happens naturally. Making intelligent electronic music comes naturally for Lost Signal. The epic timescapes that hide within his compositions can take you by surprise. From his upcoming new album, Light Of Other Days, here’s Entropy - the new single.

Dives of colourful bass greet blips and zaps that escape from the coalescing framework of sound in tangents of amplitude. A growing pulse builds from within; harmonising tones overlap and spread the forms out like jam on cosmic bread. The song starts, a layering of vocal doubles the sound over itself, strange stereo feedback leaps forward in a 3D style projection of poem. Extra land opens before us as new keyboard sounds sprinkle doses of sparkle and melody upon the twirling mix. It’s progressive, building tension forms in shining bubbles of silvery tone while aspects dance in choreographed jousts towards emptiness.
