Originally from Philadelphia and now enjoying the fantastic city of London, Elunia combines deeply human and intuitive lyricism with stunning electronic backdrops that sparkle on their own. Strobe Lights identifies with burn-out culture and the isolation of today’s world. She feels that today’s world glorifies exhaustion and a full schedule. This makes being a real person difficult. Elunia felt like an outsider from an early age, discovering music as an outlet for her unorthodox personality. From writing songs as a form of escape to creating moments in time that the world wants to listen to hasn’t been easy. These things never are, yet as we shall see, it’s been well worth the effort. Offering strength in vulnerability, refusing to put her feelings in a box, this is Elunia with Strobe Lights.

It begins with abstract synths then Elunia enters with a melodic poignance. Her voice is so clear, I can imagine it being bottled. It makes beautiful spirits; the music evolves with strange sounds and tuneful rhythms that bump like RnB. Poems and story combine as the drama crisps and crumbles beneath the weight of the shuffling bass. Whist and wonder live in the same house, they get along, if they stay away from each other’s dream. An evolution continues the music as new instruments reveal an orchestra of surreal brush strokes in bell and elastic. A classical pop melts into a modern sounding trip-hop like a sunset over a postcard from Philadelphia.
