The Dutch Darkwave group Clan Of Xymox take their hand toDelerium’s 2023 track In The Deep. Featuring the LA-based lyricist Kanga, In The Deep has skyrocketed the Vancouver duo as part of their fan favourite repertoire. Now with a brand-new take on the cut, the joint efforts of several talents combine to produce this multi-dimensional and exquisitely formulated remix. Formed in 1987, the Vancouver-based darkwave duo Bill Leeb, of Skinny Puppy, and Rhys Fulber also made sounds under the name Front Line Assembly. Delerium has been an ethereal and experimental journey that compliments their more famous sounds. This new take on the original formula still resonates with the scene and offers new harmonies that can freshen up future corners.  

Thunderous synths begin to weave in melodic waves that overlap with tone and rhythmic inflection. Bursts of percussion lunge from the backdrop to bring the flower of vocal. Multiple tones emerge as the voice begins to describe the scene. A slow-motion song meets a quick rhythmic pulse as the lyrics caress the beats with delicate touches and drift. An atmosphere of joy meets shady corridors as the room next door beckons with glowing lights and vibrancy. Introspective and stepping outside, the music takes a moment to collect the self within the spirit. Thoughtful and mesmerising, this remix of In The Deep takes us on a daydream we can revisit whenever we like.
