Her music has been picked up by the legendary presenter Zane Lowe, it’s been featured by LadyGunn, Atwood Magazine, and Spotify Fresh Finds. Bedroom pop music isn’t as easy as it sounds. Normally a music recording requires lots of technicians as well as a gifted set of players. They have a person who tells them when their music needs more work and when they’ve hit the mark. Not with this kind of thing, it’s all done with talent, computers, and lots of learning. Written about being in a queer relationship, the music explores how not everyone is ready to meet you where you need to be. Perhaps asking divergent people to be parallel to you, who might also be divergent, is a tall order. It’s a Temporary Tragedy.

It opens with a spoken word phrase, aiming the mental picture in the right direction. The guitar then bubbles up like water. Synthesiser also reveals itself as Rorey sings gently, beautifully, and with delicate storytelling. As the music rides out, through growing nature and geography, an impressionist sense of feeling washes through with vibrancy and introspective meaning. Strings and synth meet in the middle with a full fronted push towards the future.
