Their new video for A Multitude Of Cruelties premiered just a few hours ago and so it’s the perfect time to put it to work. Washington DC is known the world over for US politics and world-famous names, so Zabus have a massive backdrop to their ethereal and ground-breaking sound. A delivery of post-punk, gothic noise, no-wave, and psychedelic avant-garde brings a focus of music that lays well beyond the general scope of listening. Bell Barrow firmament Jeremy Moore creates the sound and brings it to life with vivid and striking imagery. Likened to artists as far ranging as Nick Cave, Joy Division, Velvet Underground, and Sonic Youth, the new album is set to intrigue and inspire with a back-to-back hand-out of multi-faceted meals on feels.

Creepy tones and feedback open out into a lush bass that struggles to make sense through the chaotic drones. Voice then bellows through, operatic and monologous, a summery melody radiates on strings as melancholy vocals sullenly drip into grinding metal springs and electronic movements. Poetic and slow paces, the words echo gently in open spaces left behind by the pushing aside of rusted machinery. The juxtaposition of string melody and ambient scratching leans in and meets somewhere between sanity and fantasy.
