About to release their sparkling new album, Liverpool indie-rock band Ernest Moon woo us all with the latest single. The two friends Seven Doran and Brian Murphy discovered a shared love of egg on toast and catchy up-beat music. Merging the elements of pop music that make it sound good and the artful lyricism that rock bands do so well, Ernest Moon fill the void many have wished for. The single and album were produced during the lockdown with recording sessions at Liverpool's Ark Recording Studio. Described as an innocent plea in a screaming narcissistic age, Unkind uses a 6/8 rhythm and reflects on some of the day's genuine and pseudo moral qualities.


A chilled drum-score splashes into tranquil waters as bass greets violin to produce a waft of warming energy. Grasses sway in the wind as the smooth progression leans over. Vocals begin, guitar with warm and crisp distortion twinkles like hazy starlight through indigo horizons. Lush harmonies reach through the composition as strings and vocal buoyantly drift on choppy drums and sparkling bars. Reminiscent of The Flaming Lips, the driftwood and sunshine sensation carries us through awe-filled escapism and adventure at a beautifully relaxing pace.
