Toronto’s Brodie Nero has successfully blurred the boundary between music and fashion with his so far decade long adventure. After his own debut release just last year, the networks have gone wild with the potential for all our futures. What can we expect from this prolific producer of texture and textile? So far Brodie Nero has reached the number one slot on several niche charts with his creative output. Drawing on electronic Latin culture, merging the computer and synthesiser with timeless techniques passed down from the ages, Brodie Nero strikes the pins once more with his latest single, Resistencia.
It begins with sun stroked and dusty beats that jostle like molecules in a boiling pan. Tonal drums and interesting percussion begin to chatter in the mix as synthesiser and bass join the flow. A vocal line adds the finishing touch with the title being sung in a groovy salsa style melody. The music bubbles and froths in its own juices for a moment until the verse enters. Elements of Infected Mushroom give the music a dancing spirit as lyrics make the song come alive. Mixing of guitars, synthesisers, and rhythmic breaks give rise to a passionate and sultry avenue of greatness. Let’s get the party in full flow.

Preparing the way for their long-anticipated 3rd album, Freakin Disco release a new single from the record. Face Yourself is the first single taken from the new album and sets the scene for the next level of the band’s journey. Produced by Grammy Award winner Steve Dub, who’s worked with top acts such as Moby, Chemical Brothers, UNKLE, and The Prodigy, the electronic groove is given the exact technique to bring it to its best. The band submitted a demo version of the track to the SongLab Initiative of the Hungarian Export Office and won the attention of the master producer with their raw quality. The video for the track was made by Szabolcs Hajdu, who’s an award-winning Hungarian director. With quality musicians and expert media production, the track stands high above the noise with its in-depth quality.
A vocal cuts through with stylish melody and synths then enter on a pulsing entrance. Harmonies join the foray, the tune builds with a dancing rhythm that lifts the energy with the passing bars. Bass and drums clamber in the foreground and swirling synthesisers maintain a breezy and evocative dynamic. Party atmospheres and introspective composition balance the direction of the track with inward and outward expressions of flow. The progression lifts further, bringing tone to new heights with pressures rising to greet climactic levels. A beat ridden synth bomb that keeps exploding makes the entirety a fantastic teaser for the album to come.

Christmas In Soho
It’s not all baubles and tinsel at Christmas. For those of us dealing with unmanageable problems of any kind, the prospect of the festive season can be too much to handle. Hopefully we all have somewhere to turn at these times, and indeed good music can be just this place. Christmas In Soho is the new and alternative-Christmas song from the UK’s Rowsie. No strangers to political and humanist songs, Rowsie have used their brand of indie, americana, and punk rock to touch on many of today’s social issues. With a new album in the works, due late summer 23, the run up to this release will see a steady stream of new material to keep us in the loop. This coincides with a tour of the States and the UK with possible dates in Mexico thrown in for good measure.
A blues guitar opens the tune with a great driving energy. Melody and rhythm span from the bars as inventive and nourishing notes dance in the spiralling motion of progression. The lyrics kick in with clear and upbeat lines. We need to listen as the story draws us in with relevant and entertaining style. A cosy and buoyant atmosphere frames the song and the words draw a picture we can’t forget. Catchy licks and memorable lines keep the music pulsing as the musicianship and vocal talents continue to inspire and fortify the sense of the song.

Spiky Hair And Eyeliner Time With Stay Right Here From Punk Protagonist Pat Donnelly
Stay Right Here
Released just at the weekend, Ireland’s pop-punk phenomenon Pat Donnelly smashes the scene with his new single. Drawing on the epic energy of bands like Blink 182, The Offspring, Green Day, and Good Charlotte, (links to eBay merch) the song writing and production match the ferocious and fun dynamic of these inspirational groups. The track is about the heartache of when a close friend moves away, the shared enjoyment of the days now just a memory. It’s all part of life’s journey and we can instantly draw on similar experiences. Having been a key member of several bands since his teens, Pat Donnelly is now out on his own and punching at even bigger weights. His new album is due next year and until then we have this nugget of gold.
A beautiful guitar effect decorates the opening chords as the riff begins with style. A drumbeat rears up from the background with another interesting digital effect. The song then bursts into being with vocals, full open distortion and a great mixing of fiery chords. A dynamic and bouncy energy keeps the pace as Pat Donnelly gives it his all with Irish accented upbeat lyrics. We feel his emotions as the translation of soul into sound becomes all. The fun and lively song keeps surprising us with fresh licks and breaks that throw the pop-punk party into overdrive with the presence of greatness.

Spooky And Seductive Beauty In Chaos With Bloodletting Gets The Pulse Racing (If You Have One)
Beauty In Chaos
Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)
33.3 Music Collective
Released on Halloween 22 and frankly suitable for any time of the year, alternative rockers Beauty In Chaos bring the flavour of gothic and darkly happenings to their well-loved sound. Taking a New Orleans approach to the Concrete Blonde song Bloodletting, the Beauty In Chaos method brings the original to new heights. To get the perfect sound for the record, New Orleans accented curator Michael Ciravolo took the lead vocal. The saxophone spot was purposefully picked by Ciravolo and features the timeless ability of Mars Williams of The Psychedelic Furs.
A sinister wail of metallic feedback swirls from the dusky shadows as a barrage of drums accompanies the groove of a sleek saxophone. A crash of the band brings distorted guitars and synths to the mix with a punch and a kick that makes us move. Spooky lyrics then begin to tell the story and bring imagery of vampirism and bloodlust. An enchanting dreamscape of fantasy and darkness curdles in the soundwaves as the band elevate the shimmering harmonies built up by the adjacent and lush tone of the sax.
