Post-punk Euro goth and alternative rock Pink Turns Blue reinvent the tragic romance with Dancing With Ghosts. A new single from the soon-to-be released Black Swan LP takes the veteran soundsmiths to a new page in the chapterbook as the exploratory and charismatic craft invokes yet more creativity. Like the alchemist, Pink Turns Blue is able to maintain a transmutation of feeling and sensibility through ever-reaching branches of songwriting that expand the scene and invite inspiration from all corners of the music room. Their satisfying and sombrely adventurous sound is a long-time feature for the retro and maestro generations; since 1985 they have been entertaining and revealing sounds to a still growing audience. Even the kids are involved, as their two previous singles from their upcoming album have received loads of streams across many platforms. Let’s go Dancing With Ghosts. 
 
The synonymous guitar sound reveals a character within the melodic plucked chord structures that has a voice, all we need to do is wait. Like many messages from the great beyond, the rising of influence greets us with a meaningful sound or memory before the coincidental happenings show us we’re not alone. A swaying rhythm of one two drumming meets a rising and falling composition of bass, guitar, and melancholy style vocal deliveries. A true sense of traditional goth music pins the sound down like posters of icons on the walls somewhere in a tower block corner room, where a passionate follower reminisces on that time it was live.

The title track from the forthcoming February new album, Black Swan from Pink Turns Blue is out now. Checking the list of what life has to offer, with beauty and emotion as well as material and social gain, Black Swan allows us to examine the diaspora of alternative perception outside of the taxman’s ideal. You know they want us to hand over our lives to the gods of revenue and sacrifice a percentage as tithes to the government. Clearly, we owe them something for the fact we’re living in an educated, policed, and functioning society, but do we sacrifice the benefits of being alive? Formed in Berlin during 1985, Pink Turns Blue recently have been touring the States and Europe to promote their 2022 album Tainted. Decisively alike to post-punk icons such as Joy Division, Interpol, and Bauhaus, their Berlin Wall era background brings a suddenness and polarism to their creative delivery.  
 
Sombre keys begin to enchant with repeating vibes and subtle melodic flow. A resonance hides within the mix as roomy spaciousness reveals human qualities. The voice enters. Mic Jogwer haunts with solemn tones and mesmerising poetry. An electric guitar rises to meet the keyboard, bass and drums crash though as the passion in the song moves from one end of the scale to the other. New melodies surface, guitar pulses rise from the tension and release emotional dance energy that holds on tight. The vocal carries us through, a uniform story of progressive meaning takes the music as it rises and falls like waves felt during dramatic realisations.

Just in time for their latest tour, billed to kick off on September 2nd, the avant-garde and exciting Pink Turns Blue release a teaser. Running from the mounting success of their latest album, the subsequent tour sees a special release of the EP to make sure everyone can access the full catalogue of talent on offer. Since the band formed way back in 1985, the group have established a serious and multi-generational fan-base that stretches across not only the United States but around the world. What a world it is, since the music was released things have become more clouded. Various perspectives on the same things are clashing beyond the opinion section and people around the globe are experiencing the effects of greed, ignorance, and imperialism. We can only hope that with every peaceful gesture, the dance will gradually evolve. When someone offers us a selfish truth, when the balance is tipped against the conscience, we don't have to take it.


The music begins with a swirling buzzy synthesiser that begins to knead a melody from the fluffy sound. Drums enter to frame the evolution as bass and tone fall into a steady groove. The vocals fold in with expert ease with a tuneful and effected line. Guitars and bass mix with the synthesiser as the progressive composition lifts from each step and raises the energy in gradual fractions. As the chorus breaks, the upward motion begins to dominate as frills and harmonies list in the strong wind blowing in from the shore. The drums shift into a higher gear as distortion fills the guitar with lots of meaty dynamo. A casual and introspective march through the frustration of current events keeps time with the swaggering and dusky music.
