The famous New York district of Brooklyn is made even more relevant by the continual premium output of They Might Be Giants. Surely in past tense by now, the huge geek rocker group are really drawing out the moment by making us wait until April. The 18-track record The World Is To Dig will be on all the streaming sites and available from their shop. The Sword Style Shaolin Kung Fu art form associated with the Wudang Temple, westernised to Wu Tang, not only inspired the classic rap group, but it has also brought about a whole new ethos of flashy, snappy, slashy, lyrical styles. Taking this cutting philosophy to their own kind of sound, They Might Be Giants present their latest single. Half in celebration of the phenomenal rap group and half in the art of martial lyricism themselves, their Wu Tang throws a whole new light on the subject.  
 
A climbing guitar melody strums out before the classic vocals begin. The music bops into a fast and choppy manoeuvre that gives the vocal a mattress to bounce on. A slight distortion lends the guitar a punky sense of vibrancy that hits quick-stepping melodic progressions. The vocal is a kind of love song to the hip hop icons, it adopts the poke and jab, with parry and stride, as the words fly out in melodic and structured motions like Kata in Karate. Their black belt performance and memorable exhibition makes sure that we’ve got plenty to enjoy for the next seven weeks. Then, The World Is To Dig.

What began as a jam between friends sometime in the very early 1980s quickly grew to become a great sounding band. They Might Be Giants have been on the headline more than a few times since then and the alternative rock group return in 2026 with Eyeball. The new EP rolls out the red carpet for the long-awaited new album that will rush the gates and break the mould one more time. With a handful of originals on the EP to start the session, the title-track explores elements of mind control and mixed-up realities. From the duo and a drum-machine days that no musician should ever shy away from, if necessary, to a world-conquering outfit with a regal brand power, everyone will want a slice of the meringue. For now, we are given Eyeball, and it looks like it’s rising nicely. Let’s listen to the song.   
 
The music hits with full force, the classic rock n roll blues sound volleys a moseying chord selection and vocal. It describes a guy who gives his power away by claiming that everything is a psyop anyway, a fun and upbeat beat continues the story and builds the image with further bouts of design. Before we know it we’re a satellite, orbiting the Earth and we’re still listening to the music, enjoying the chorus with its harmonising duets, and it’s bouncy let-loose sentiment. It’s not that serious, it’s just great to listen to.

Grammy-award winning band They Might Be Giants are coming to the UK after 70 sold-out shows across the water in the USA. An evening with They Might Be Giants will see the band perform their entire Flood album, material from their Grammy-nominated new record Book, and some classics for good measure. This setlist naturally includes their two hits Birdhouse In Your Soul and Istanbul (Not Constantinople). Fans and their friends can enjoy one or more of five headline shows across the nation in November of this year. A world-class act with a massive following, it’s a night to remember before and after the event.
 
Birdhouse In Your Soul begins with a synthesiser and vocal motif. It swirls into action as drums and guitar join the flow. A bass pulses in the mulch as sparkling notes twinkle and run like rivers of glistening sound. A punky edge to the vocal delivery hits with an americana twinge that dances on the exciting and effervescent composition. Amusing lyrics and powerful metaphors join hands as the fun and upbeat bars continue to charge forward with vigour and talent.
