Forever (In The End)
A debut album is always an exciting time, and for Royal Academy of Dublin Music graduate Victoria Johnston the timing is just right. Taken from Where The Lights Glow, the new single brings a dash of sunshine and singer-songwriter brilliance to the airwaves. Forever (In The End) reveals a heart of Irish folk inspired easy-going pop that reinvents the Emerald Isle in our ears.
A waft of harmony enters on wings of soaring height as the music begins. An Irish melody resonates with a mixture of layered synthesisers and drums. Victoria Johnston starts to sing. An angelic voice with a huge range depicts a picturesque storyline that drifts dreamily on the orchestral and cinematic score. With a shimmer of notes, Victoria’s voice hits each tone with professional accuracy and the sing-a-long lure is too much to withstand. Not many can pull it off, though. I dare you to try.
