As Time Goes By
A keen passion for traditional poetry and 70s rock has produced a unique and intriguing focus for Israel’s Gilad. Since entering the music scene as part of a covers band, Gilad has evolved and transpired into the world of self-written original material. He’s so far written three musicals and performed on prime-time TV, and received a personal thank you note from President Barack Obama for his hard work. This latest single is written about his son, who has also decided to be a musician. As Time Goes By is available to stream now and is currently enjoying radio play across several stations.
An assembly of instruments breathe life into the song with immediate effect as piano and cello lead the melody outward. Thoughtful notes combine in a moody and wistful mosey through conjure and collaboration. Gilad enters with his voice, meaningful and empathic, his words sink in like fruit into cake leaving no space unflavoured as the atmosphere expands over time. Build-ups and breakdowns leave a spiralling force of music that grasps at the dream with eager fingers, idyllic and reminiscent, a love-song for any generation and one we can all sing to as well.
