The hugely talented Po Ki Ching has returned to the fold with another alt-rock emo-hop rendition of skill. Having moved from Hong Kong to study at the UCC in Cork, it's become clear that from his Irish base things look a lot more musical and forward facing. Garnering his abilities and wrapping them in vibrant know-how, My Twisted Heart continually produces the blazing songs and with each effort, the kudos counter gains another handful. A member of the local supergroup The Outsiders, Po Ki Ching can also be found producing sounds alongside Outsider YP and Kestine.


Dapples of synth plink like raindrops on still water as the music straightens its shirt and prepares to launch. Swirling harmonies emerge from higher tones and voice changes as rhythm begins to stitch a punctuating flow. A rhythmic break links to a dubstep sentiment as the lyrics begin. Enriched by effects and oddly satisfying angular production, the melodic and mindful composition flows free like sky fishes soaring through currents of warmth.

When Hong Kong multi-disciplinarian Po Ki Ching decided to live in Ireland, he knew it was a great time to put his sound into the world. Now he's produced an EP of which this is the single. A song about being trapped in an unwanted relationship, this is an artistic metaphor for how the artist feels about his Hong Kong home. My Twisted Heart carries the same energy from his early influences in K Rock, Canton Rock, and J Rock, then blends in the more modern tastes found within hip-hop and the alternative scene. A collaboration with Outsider YP, sticking together helps everyone feel at home.


Acoustic guitar and subtle keyboard playfully dance in sunny reverb. Then, a flux of beats and vocal hit the airwaves. The guitar punches chords down as bass and snare trace the line of flow over rolling cymbals. Moving vocals swerve and duet with one another through various effects and R&B style melodies. Sleek rhythms impress as the energy rises and falls over the emotional story-line. A catchy chorus keeps coming back with memorable lines as the smoothness continues across head-moving beats.
