John Carr is part of the Alt Rock band Brand A, signed to Creative And Dreams, he’s also worked with great acts such as Mike and the Mechanics, Elkie Brooks, Leo Sayer, and Elton John. A quiet genius whose light is reflected in the eyes of many, a continual growth and progression brings even more intriguing and memorable sounds. This classic song is reinvented with the fantastic voice of Georgina White.
 
It begins with a sultry and slow rhythm, elevated by brass and snare drum. The familiar song begins with a graceful entrance from the vocal. The band continues to rumble and bubble with funky jazz frills as the pulsing rhythm continues to pump the hot blood. As the song moves through its stages, Georgina White pushes her voice further and the melody becomes more dramatic and vibrant. She’s a real hero already, the chart-topping member of all-girl band Clout reached number 2 in the UK charts and number 1 in various other countries. A fantastic achievement and one that was well-deserved. Not only a success with music, Cindy Alter has also defeated leukaemia. She came down with the illness just before a Clout reunion which could have been the end of her music dreams. Refusing to give up, she kept her guitar by her side throughout her treatment and kept the creative flame alive. We can all admire her bravery and determination, which are what makes her new music so inspirational. Her new song is Driving and presents the music in a beautifully made video.
 
A catchy melody accompanies the groove of distorted guitar as the song begins. A prog-rock keyboard hums in the distance as Cindy Alter starts to sing. A country feel swaggers behind the classic rock backbone that holds everything tightly together. Clarity in the drumming lifts the chord progression upward as the upbeat yet thoughtful song continues the story. Layers of guitar, string bends, keyboard, and voice swirl in positive sweeps of tone as the music grows with inventiveness on each passing chorus. Seattle-based jazz rockers Guest Directors have been non-stop over the past few months. Since their critically acclaimed Oh, To Be Weightless In The Sky, the band are back with yet more superb form and a brand new record. Interference Patterns sees the shoe-gaze shenanigans rise once more in ambient and abstract musings of music. This new record contains nine awesome tracks which can be yours on limited edition vinyl if you so choose. There are only 100 ever and numbers are dropping fast. Unlimited streaming and a CD version also exists, we can expect the statistics to climb consistently for as long as the band would like and then some more.
 
A rhythmic progression of chords breaks the song open as the sense of rock rises with an addition of drums and new guitars. Bass thunders behind the rivers of guitar melody that strum and pick through splashy sections of sound. The lyrics work in like butter, colouring the mix with a golden glow that shimmers and reflects on the choppy undercurrent. Waves of pressure reveal bursts of energy that climb up and over the framework of song that hops from one foot to another in a motivated and expressive clamber.

The Budapest-based duo Diamond Haze are back with their latest EP Unstable Cloud Filter on Tapes Sublimating Records. Since July’s Words Can’t original and remix release, the band have been working on a selection of new tracks that demonstrate the full creative scope of the project. A series of four extended length tracks gives rise to over twenty minutes of fresh material and an experience to enjoy from start to finish. A fusion of house, broken beat, jazz, and dub reveals a cultured and multifaceted journey. The EP opens with Hello which is aptly our feature today.
 
A warming tone rushes in from the cold as airy synthesiser sounds hum a dreamy melody. A quick drum then folds in like sugar, adding a layer of energy to the otherworldly sounds. A gradual progression forms an increasing picture of clouds and sky as the vibrant tones merge with sunny twinkling pitches. A break leans in to let loose a bass section that adds fuel to the already upbeat rhythm. Deep and bouncy tones throb in time to the kick beat as cymbals and snare rattle on branching projections. A sense of the psybient brings out shimmering sensations and mysterious meanderings as the evocative music tells the story.

From The Dandy Warhols, Peter G. Holmström continues the musical adventure with Pete International Airport. A glissando of talents and backgrounds move together in one well-oiled machine of sound and imaginative travel. Out now on Little Cloud Records, his new album It Felt Like The End Of The World takes a body of work mostly written during Covid and releases it into the wild. This third album takes the rock psychedelia to new levels with mixing undertaken by Spooky Electric Co’s Jeremy Sherrer and mastering by Dave Coley at Elysian. Featuring Dark Horses’ Lisa Elle, Next Of Kin takes the position of video single and portrays a sense of progress in times of uncertainty.
 
Enchanting melodies waft up from the dreamy intro, guitars and drums emerging from the chrysalis of sound. Bass forms a solid ground for heady drums and meandering piano to flow in spacious verse sections. Lisa Elle sings with her angelic voice quality that rises and falls with the tune as the song reaches ever further outward. Ambient guitar motifs ring out between the words as harmonising phrases elevate and compliment the sound of the vocal. A tuneful and uplifting relaxation gives Next Of Kin a great atmosphere and an imaginative playground of inspiration.
