It's a long time since 1987 when True Lies formed, sharing their name with the popular Arnie film that appeared seven years later. It's rumoured that the bodybuilder turned entrepreneur turned actor turned politician (he's been busy) even owns their debut record. We will likely never know, but we do know for certain that the Scandinavian scene has been lapping up this act for decades. Their latest single is now on the airwaves and streaming sites, and we're all getting to grips with the fact we've been missing out for all this time.
The song smashes in with a great rock guitar riff. Punk style rhythms jangle along with a dance-worthy beat. Next, a vocal begins with raw and rhyming lyrics that swing to the easy-going beat. Elements of Dropkick Murphy's call through the chorus as a folky aggro in the composition soars through on the wave of surging chords and drums. The continuation of the guitar riff pins a volley of sections together that all branch from the main key. Variations combine and fall back into the main groove along with lines of blues and bruise.
