We are thrilled to welcome Padjo Dolan back to the Sound Read as he returns with his latest anthemic guitar, piano, and string composition. This homage to the solar system's most beautiful ring system that surrounds the fascinating and frigid giant world really places us on a magical and cosmic journey. When he heard his heroes U2 for the first time, Padjo Dolan knew he wanted to change and save the world with each new release of his own. He has filled those shoes more than adequately over the recent months and years with a consistent and considered penmanship each and every time.


Piano and subtle acoustic guitar open out like petals as Padjo Dolan adds his recognisable and homely vocals. His accent briskly paints the syllables as the story describes a dream that doesn't sound too distant. A minor key whisks like autumn breezes over browning leaves, knocking a few from the branches and sweeping them away. A string section adds another dimension as bass and drum fill the tempo with their percussion. The music steps up a gear and rises to meet the telescope of vision that feels the power of the night time.

Mixing Irish heritage with an Americana sound gives a distinctive transatlantic atmosphere to the solo career of Padjo Dolan. He's been an integral part of a popular band for a while and now is further lifting the scene with his second eponymous song. Forming a group of fantastic musicians to bring this track to life, Padjo (Patrick) Dolan on vocal and guitar is joined by Cian Boylan, Conor Brady, Dave Hingerty, and Robbie Malone. Female backing vocals are provided by the fabulous Donna Bisset. Having found his fighting spirit as a musician during the lockdown, a new wave of energy is manifesting through Dolan's handiwork.


Acoustic guitar and electric guitar join forces as a bashing drumbeat kicks off the show. Quick lyrics with a memorable and crystal-clear voice rise with a folky melody. Powerful chords bosh the tempo down with the help of steady and energetic drums. Strumming patterns describe a riff that hides within the mix as a secondary avenue of composition as forward facing vocals keep our attention. Musical interludes of piano and blues fill the spaces as a fantastic rock energy keeps the fire burning.
