Uplifting tech-house from Hotswing is always a great addition to any playlist. This short yet prominent new number sees the Italian producer sink further into his bed of talents only to resurface with this glistening pearl. Well-known for creating true-to-form techno and house mixes that seep with feel-good quality, Hotswing made his first label impact back in 2022 with his classic-cut Go Up. A new sense of dance momentum has impassioned the artist to hit us hard with the heavy and entirely infectious Feel It.
 
A swish of rhythm hits the soundwaves as the vocal rides over the top. Effects and reverb slant the sounds into italic like sections that lean in with a pulsing and insistent quality. The bass begins with a vibrant unison along the quick-timed gust of motivation. Various words are spoken in with paced lyrical vibrancy, seemingly random images are given to us to the line of progressive rhythms and thundering percussion. Feel It from Hotswing is an exciting concoction of sensual and grabby beats.

Stalwart Northerners, The Voluntears are enjoying a union with Fred Cannon’s Creative and Dreams Music Network. Invited to join the enterprise, the band bring a fresh and interesting edge to the radio music scene. An inventive and very British edge gives way to unique and catchy songs that entertain and inspire. Their latest single is Rosie Road and is given the video treatment with a fun and watchable performance.
 
It begins with a thumping rock drum rhythm that ascends into frills of sparkling guitar. A new-wave energy thrusts the song forward as the vocal kicks in with strong and uplifting harmonies. The major key bobs along with a gleeful positivity as the rhythm section pounds along on the steady and quick-paced track. A dramatic flow of lyrics swings back and forth from verse to chorus as the punky and sunshine infused song takes flight. Rosie Road from The Voluntears is a fun and jumpy anthem to better days that might as well start right away.

One half of Dreaj Music, which he formed with musical compatriot Andre Sanders, Marcus Cox aka Mr Tibbs is here with his latest single. A sentimental song, My Best Friend is written about two people who live connected through familiarity, similarity, and synchronicity. When vulnerability hits home, we need our friends to cover our backs and keep us feeling positive. Having people like this in our life is important, and that’s why this song needed to be written. Since growing up in New York in a musical family, Marcus Cox moved to North Carolina where he studied music. Meeting his partner in the business, Andre Sanders, the duo has made huge inroads out on their own with a focus on writing, recording, and an exploration of subjects. Since defeating a cancer diagnosis, Marcus Cox has found a fresh wind to his sail which has given him a great impetus to write from his soul.
 
A moody piano begins the music with melancholy tones and intimate vibrations. The bass kicks in with iconic whistle synths to elevate a true RnB atmosphere. Hip-hop sentiments smoothly swagger through as rhythmic bells jangle over thumping bass and stutters of snare. Vocal mixes rap and song with expert balance with poetic and emotive lines rippling over the boundaries with cautious yet inviting openness. A love song infused with human feelings about anxiety and regret forms the basis of this vocalised drama. Funky grooves keep the music flowing as Marcus Cox projects his vivid mental pictures over the laid-back and heart-felt composition.

Describing themselves as tropical mutant punk funk, the trio from Brazil have just released their new single. Out now on Slam Dunk Music, the new song Music For Breathing is a tasty teaser for the new album After The Future. Fans can enjoy the new record and send this highlight track to their friends with satisfaction. The creative talents of Bruno Verner, Eliete Mejorado and, more recently, cellist Yoko Afi bring a unique and vibrant sound together from a seamless mixing of styles and character. The track has been dedicated to our planetary ecosystem in erosion, which is intriguing and romantic at the same time. Let’s hope it doesn’t erode too soon.
 
Wailing feedback and distortion from an untuned radio sweeps in to carry a majestic voice on the back of a white horse. Cello revels in the open space as digital sounds craft undercurrents of character within the flow. A meaningful gesture seems to push from every bar as notes form one after another in a unison and spiritual dance that evokes abstraction and fantastic images. A drifting story of word-less feeling captures the sense of Music For Breathing, as elevated notes meet diminished harmonies and dreamy networks of musical pattern.

From the new EP, Outlaw The Dead, the single I Am The One Who Ghosts provides us with an intriguing video alongside the brilliant and catchy musical number. The San Francisco based E.G. Phillips brought his vision to life with the help of Hyde Street Studios. Better-known as Wally’s Hyde Out, Studio C has seen the production of irreplaceable works by artists such as Herbie Hancock, Grateful Dead, Green Day, Santana, and Dead Kennedys. A jazz feel dominates the single, I Am The One Who Ghosts, with beautiful vocals provided by Mar Vilaseca.
 
Drifting tones shimmer like reflections on moving water as the music opens in multiple directions. Piano and string join in ghostly harmonies that gambol along playful lines that become vocals. The darling voice of Mar Vilaseca calls out in crooner-style cabaret lines of intimate and dramatic sultriness. A progressive balance of rhythm and melody folds together with building lines that hold the voice closely with mood and tone. A smooth and silken delivery pours over like sugared cream gently brisked into lush patterns. I Am The One Who Ghosts from E.G. Phillips and Mar Vilaseca is brimming with liquid class.

Scheduled for worldwide release in the coming March, the Belgian shoegazers present the first single from their upcoming album Temporary Light. Fading Phase is our first delve into the depths of Antwerp’s muse and music through the creative talents of Newmoon. Mainly written on a battered but quality second-hand guitar, the vibes of its history and character shone through in the creative process. Rehiring their tried and tested producer, Thomas Valkiers, the band put their work in the best hands. To finish the job, they enlisted Simon Scott of Slowdrive to master the finality of the album. With a new drummer also on board to make the rhythm section spring back into life, Newmoon are keeping us all guessing as to what Temporary Light will be like. All we’re left with is this fascinating clue.
 
It begins with a bliss of chord and melody, harmonic tingles shimmer in the broadening vision as drums penetrate with pulsations of dream. As the voice begins, a heady reverb captures the intent and flutters it upward in streaming kinesis. The guitars rapture into forms of vibrant composition that mimic the vocal in murmuration-like cloud patterns. A driving sense of motion keeps the mind in activity as the gradual and grace-filled sweeps of sound continue to massage the sphere we sit within. A heavy push leaps upon us in a sudden swathe of distortion and a murky distance soars in to create an almost limitless boundary of sound in which we are hurtled forward in a weightless capsule of deliverance. Fading Phase from Newmoon is a progressive celebration of monumental aesthetics.
