It was back in 2020 when Bakka made waves of his own with collaborations on projects by ZAC and Ashibar with Make It Better and So High. So far, these mixes have reached over seven million streams on Spotify alone. And that’s only the start. The Bolivian born Brazilian resident has returned with force as he releases the high-flying EP Wish Me Luck. We don’t think he needs it but if it’s what he wants, we wish him it all. Out on Zatar Records, Berlin, Wish Me Luck consists of 3 originals plus synthapellas to make six in total. The title track opens the EP and deservedly makes a feature in Sound Read Six.
 
It begins with a striking rhythmic synthesiser pulse that flutters like sparks from a naked tesla coil. A surge of energetic sound crafts a snaking journey through a stable run of resonant and melodious bass drum notes. Extra drums break free from their silent captivity and begin to add flourish and flow to the groove. New synthesiser sounds begin to swirl in melodic phrases across the pulsating framework. Glowing symbols of sound jostle in the busy yet enchanting atmosphere that drives with rhythmic impetus. Mystery and intrigue soar in the echoes as dance beats scatter across inventive and choppy bursts of vibrant abstractica.
