Eric & The Soo Moneytown Eastside Confectionery Records Toronto They're back with yet more brilliance, Eric & The Soo return from the Lincoln County Social Club studio with another burst of quality sound. Featuring Ken Yoshioka on electric guitar, Julian Fauth on keyboards, Tim Bradford with the bass, Dino Naccarato on drums, James McKie on violin, and fronted by Eric Brombacher on acoustic guitar and vocals, Moneytown hits the high-street. Where has the soul of our communities gone? Recent trends have pushed us all online and that's pushed many home-built businesses out of the window. Replaced by chain-stores and conglomerates, the monopoly of locality is becoming stronger. It really is up to local and national officials to make it worthwhile for folks to set up shop where the value can be measured in community spirit. We totally agree. Let's listen to the song and see what Eric & The Soo really think. It opens with a cheeky riff that schmoozes into the air with a dash of keys, drum, and bass. Eric enters with his synonymous sound as the band deliver a groovy and inventive foray of catchy licks. Harmonising notes flicker and dance as the band enjoy the loose yet expertly designed fabric of melody. Lyrics describe the sense of upside-down priorities that dominate where we live. A country folk swagger keeps the flow moving at a delicious pace while expert craftsmanship brings subtle progression with jazz-like fills that keep us guessing and entertained. Obsession England & Germany George and Rumen parted ways after playing together in a band when they both lived in Bulgaria. George moved to London and Rumen to Germany and that seemed to be that for their sound. 2022 brought changes, however, when a chance phone call brought them back together for an experiment in making more music. One song turned into another, and another, and it wasn't long before they'd written an entire album. Naming themselves after the radio phenomenon that swooped over us during the 20th century, we know there's still a massive market for listeners who prefer to hear other people's choices. They're aiming for the sky, too, with the addition of professional drummer Julio Baterista the trio make a force that can't be silenced. Their new single is Obsession and the band have set their sights for Anfield and Liverpool FC where they hope manager Jurgen Klopp will hear the single and agree to play it on a match day. Let's hope he reads Sound Read Six. Bouncy blues inspired guitars and bass crash through a wall of drums and begin to rock. Melodies and harmonies brightly shine in rhythmic bursts as the first verse enters on wings. A slight vocal effect twists the human tone into compressed and punchy points of verbal sound. Layers of tone elevate the sound and rise with the passing lines. Frills of secretive riff sparkle within the wholesome drive as the mood is lifted through punchy and powerful projection. A true rock n roll vibe is crafted through this imaginative and dynamic composition. Written to celebrate Dante's Inferno, the album of the same name takes us deep into the realms of punishment and damnation by visiting each of the sins. Comprised of music therapist and vocal performance graduate Ravensea, Sean Gallows and award-winning DJ Scott Dispel from Face Value and TEXTBEAK, a huge scope of talent and experience focuses into this one headliner project. From playing in 90s hardcore bands to strutting the clubs in full goth attire, this group of musicians bring both image and skill to the same page. Mastered at The Cage Studios by Attrition's Martin Bowes, known for working with Steven Severin, Psychic TV, and Nine Inch Nails, the new album is already rightfully marked for long-term success. Dreamy piano calms a storm as Ravensea enters with lush vocals. Melodic lines trail up and down through pitch-perfect harmonies with the ruminations of key. Progression pushes the passion further as the mix reveals extra layers with dapples of illumination that brighten over gradual bars. Like a dark Disney, an iconic female lead manifests imagery of nightmare and sadness. Poetic lyrics sail across rippling waters as the musical boatman silently punts the barge onward. Dreamy and submerging, the sound of the song sits perfectly in balanced and cushioned thrones and silver and bone.
