It’s always a treat when pMad sends something over for Sound Read Six to feature, the Irish goth-wave fan-favourite maintains his piledriving energy with trimmings galore. The latest track was released on America’s Independence Day. Fury is described as that time when your fury just boils over. I’ve been there, you’ve been there, we’ve all been there. Sometimes things so go against our wishes or way that we’re simply left feeling like we don’t exist, make sense, or matter. That’s what makes me angry, anyway. pMad might have his own ideas so we had better listen to the music and find out what it sounds like.
A sneaky synthesiser sound slithers into the system as chunky rhythms rise in the bass. pMad begins, a spoken-word song in his usual emotionally charged and controlled style begins. A thrashy drum and quick paced guitars join the music to bring a rocking industrial edge to the gloomy evocations. Guitars chunter along in palm-muted rhythms as notes lean out from the mass into wailing feedback. The surge of rhythm takes the music into intense zones of headspace as pMad defines the heated moment. Elements of Rammstein and Mortiis join in with darkwave volleys of looped beats.
