A brilliant single from Black Nite Crash has been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks and finally made its way to our latest feature. The Take is directly from October's expected Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash. For twenty years, Black Nite Crash have been escaping the realms of Radiohead copycats by doing something else. We're glad they did, not that Radiohead lack distinction, we do need a varied diet to stay healthy. Over thirty members have lent their talents to the band as their direction has taken them from treetop to treetop in the jungle of industry apparatus. Released on the Neon Sigh label, this home of fuzz-pop gets another fantastic ingredient to brighten up the soundscape.


A bash of tom-tom drums brings out the rhythm to a smooth and gliding pace. A swirl of lead guitar begins to offer moody blues into the reverb and the storm. A merging of intentions forms a pinnacle as the vocal enters with melodious backing sounds. The music rises and falls in squally bursts of genius as the formations of tone reveal themselves one by one. A story-like progression maintains an eager listening experience while the tidal energy in the band keeps pushing up against the breakers. Distorted and delightful, The Take chugs through the sonic scenery with a groovy prowess and seductive glow.
